TREATS, NOT TRICKS

Orange is the new orange this Halloween. So put on your spookiest costume and get ready to do some very grown-up trick-or-treating at The Shops at Columbus Circle, where there are only treats, not tricks. You’ll find everything you need to satisfy your sweet tooth and put you in a frighteningly festive mood. After all, Halloween’s not just for kids.

Luxury candymaker Sugarfina stocks $150 gummy bears made with 24-karat gold flakes alongside fanciful choices for mere mortals — and monsters — like gummy zombie brains and spooky sours. The walls here are lined with colorful candies. The shop’s signature treat is a “Design Your Own Bento Box,” which you can fill with three to eight sweet treats for a gift or for your own snacking pleasure.

Of course, no trick-or-treat experience is complete without chocolate. La Maison du Chocolat will make all your bonbon and truffle fantasies come true. Indulge in one of the decadent pumpkins in dark or milk chocolate and filled with clusters of caramelized almonds. The shop also offers a gift box of delectable pralines with three bouchées: one in dark chocolate with slivers of pistachios and two in milk chocolate with crispy crepe praline. The box is even decorated with an owl and a full moon to help put you in the spirit.

Stop by Williams-Sonoma this month and you’ll find festive favorites like the Mini Halloween Apple Boo Gift Boxes, Halloween toffee, sour pumpkin gummies, and even skull marshmallows. If you just can’t bring yourself to choose from all their offerings, they also have a Halloween-filled trick-or-treat bag. Not only does the bag glow in the dark, it also comes with an assortment of the best treats — a bat lollipop, pumpkin sugar cookies, and gummy candy corn, just to name a few. If you’re looking to make your own treats, check out the DIY Caramel Apple Kit or stock up on Halloween Cookie Cutters in the shapes of skulls, bats, and ghouls. Boo!
