summer in central park

A backyard oasis to The Shops at Columbus Circle, Central Park has served as a sancutary to locals and tourists alike since 1858. Thanks to not-for-profit organizations like Central Park Conservancy, the park is beautifully maintained, preserved, and activated all year long. Here are a few of the best ways to enjoy from summer to fall!

  1. Concert Series – SummerStage offers an array of free and ticketed concerts right in Central Park from June to October. From Andra Day to The Roots, there’s a show for everyone to catch on a summer night. Pro tip: Stop by Center Bar on the 4th Floor for a pre-show drink and mention “SummerStage” for a drink voucher to redeem at a future visit.

  1. Central Park Tours – Available 7 days a week, Central Park Conservancy offers expert-guided walking tours where guests learn about the park’s history and wildlife, partake in different activities, and experience some of the best views in NYC.

  1. Film Festival – Join Central Park Conservancy for their annual film festival presented by National Geographic Documentary Films, August 12th – August 16th, for free screenings like FLY and OceanXplorers. Grab some sandwiches from Tartinery and a group of friends to enjoy a summer evening in the heart of Manhattan.

  1. Picnic – Nothing says summer like a picnic in Central Park. Escape the chaos of the city by sprawling out on a blanket with snacks, games, and some friends for a memorable weekend in NYC. The Shops has all the essentials from blankets and baskets at Williams Sonoma, to chips, dips, and sips at Whole Foods.

  1. Miniature Sailboat Racing – Bring the kids to Conservatory Water where they can race miniature sailboats and yachts in the same spot featured in Stuart Little! Guests can rent the boats at Kerbs Boathouse, which also houses a small café by La Pain Quotidien.

  1. Fleet Feet Run Club – There’s a reason run clubs are trending, and this one takes the cake with views through Central Park, merchandise try-ons, 3D Foot-Scanning for the perfect fit, socializing and so much more. Fleet Feet offers weekly run clubs every Wednesday at 6:30pm, free and open to the public. Meet at the store on the 2nd Floor before the run to take advantage of these exclusive perks.
