Feeling blue that you didn’t make it to Coachella? Don’t despair — summer is here and New York offers up lots of opportunities to get outside, listen to the coolest bands, and rock the hottest festival looks. Celebrating its 31st anniversary, Central Park SummerStage spotlights acts throughout the season, ranging from indie to hip-hop. Randalls Island’s new Panomara Festival (July 22-24) is shaping up to be New York’s version of Coachella with headliners like Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem. And on Labor Day weekend, the Electric Zoo 2016 Festival takes over Randalls Island for an all-out EDM extravaganza. But what to wear? The Shops at Columbus Circle is the source for festival fashion.
An outdoor music event calls for a barely-there dress like Lucky Brand’s Printed Tank Midi, which has a vintage-inspired print that looks like something you might have seen at Woodstock. The breezy, diaphanous material and strappy tank makes it perfect for a hot summer day. Belt it or wear it loose and flowing.
Every smart concertgoer knows that you need to shield yourself from the sun, and Lucky Brand’s Open-Weave Floppy Hat does it in style. Crafted from paper straw and finished off with open weave detailing, this hat will let in the air while giving you some protection at the same time.
Channel festival fashion icon Kate Moss with the Off-the-Shoulder Dress from H&M. A layer of ruffles adds a touch of romance to this boho design, which comes in a bold geometric print. H&M’s wide-brimmed Straw Hat is the perfect concert companion.
Nothing says summer like chiffon, and that’s where Diesel’s D-Dahlia Dress comes in. The light-as-air fabric moves with the music, and the slouchy silhouette is the definition of rock-and-roll chic.
The best part of festival fashion? It doesn’t matter who is on stage because all eyes will be on you.
